I found this spot in the fall of 2006, just before the sunflower harvest on a clear beautiful day. Painting pleinair (outside) allows the artist to see all the colors of nature. Notice the subtle changes in the trees to the left as well as the soft colors in the mountain. A photo would never capture such nuances..
